Charlestown is very dog friendly. Every time I walk out of the Navy Yard I see at least one dog walker with 5 to 10 dogs sniffing the air and constantly marking their territory.

The Navy Yard is also very friendly to seals. One seal in particular suns itself on the docks of the Courageous Sailing Center. I've never seen a wild animal so relaxed and "at home"!

Here is a video of a dog at the sailing center encountering the seal. Let's just say the dog did not know what to do with this foreign creature. They stared at each other for a while, then the dog proceeded to "mark his territory" and run off to his owner. The seal, however, remained remarkably calm. He is adorable!
